Environment : Indo-Pacific (Cymbiola, Melo, Amoria), south America (Adelomelon, Zidona), south Africa (Harpulina, Cymbium), mediterranean (rare Voluta musica); intertidal depth to deep water (~500 m); most common in shallow subtidal zones (5–50 m); on sandy or muddy substrates, sometimes among seagrass beds
