Common name : tun shells
Aspect : globular, almost spherical shell with a very large opening and a voluminous and enveloping last turn, rather flattened top. Wide and deep suture line. Thin and wavy outer lip. Operculum absent in adults
Feeding : echinoderms(especially sea cucumbers), crustaceans and small marine animals whose calcareous shell they attack with the help of an acid secretion which paralyzes their prey and pierces the shell
Environment : exclusively in tropical seas, on sandy areas, in fairly deep waters
