Common name : auger shells or auger snails

Aspect : Long, thin, screw-shaped shell with many turns. Small opening, notch on the top of the opening, a cutting edge. Short siphonal canal, horny seal.

Feeding : carnivorous, in most species, a venomous barb similar to that of the cone snails, is used to stun and immobilize prey, which typically consists of various marine worms.

Environment : tropical seas, sandy bottom
