Feeding : herbivorous or detritivorous (microalgae, diatoms, algal films, and organic detritus in sediments)

Environment : Indo-Pacific waters ( Red Sea, Arabian Gulf, East Africa, Indian Ocean islands, Southeast Asia, Philippines, Japan, Australia—Queensland and Western Australia). Examples include T. terebellum in the Red Sea (Northern Bay of Safaga, Egypt) and T. delicatum in Vietnam, Philippines, and Japan. Intertidal to subtidal, typically 1–26 m (common in sand flats, seagrass beds, coral patches, and lagoons)
