Feeding : presumed to be herbivorous to omnivorous; Graze on microalgae, epiphytic algae, and detritus from sandy or muddy bottoms
Environment : tropical Indo-Pacific, primarily the Indian Ocean (including the Red Sea and Arabian Sea), with some extension into the western Pacific on sandy or silty mudflats, seagrass beds, and coral rubble; depth range from 20 to 200 m
