Aspect : biconic (two-coned shape), quite elongated, with a tall spire and a broadened body whorl; elongated siphonal canal sometimes curved or twisted; ornamentation ranging from smooth to sculptured with axial ribs, varice or spiral cords; pale to brownish colors; size can reach up to 200 mm

Feeding : presumed to be herbivorous to omnivorous; Graze on microalgae, epiphytic algae, and detritus from sandy or muddy bottoms

Environment : tropical Indo-Pacific, primarily the Indian Ocean (including the Red Sea and Arabian Sea), with some extension into the western Pacific on sandy or silty mudflats, seagrass beds, and coral rubble; depth range from 20 to 200 m
