Feeding : ectoparasites i.e. sucking out fluids and hemolymph (mollusk "blood"), often without fully entering the host (oysters, clams, polychaete worms, occasionally gastropods)
Environment : mostly in temperate and tropical regions (Indo-Pacific and Atlantic coasts) on soft sediments, seagrass beds, coral reefs, and rocky substrates worldwide; from intertidal zones to 2000 m depth
