Feeding : carnivorous predators specializing in echinoderms (starfish, sea urchins, sea cucumbers) and also bivalves, other gastropods, and occasionally crustaceans or worms
Environment : warm, shallow marine environments; Indo-Pacific (including Red Sea, South China Sea, Hawaii, Japan, Australia) and eastern Atlantic (Europe to carribean) in coral reefs, rocky or sandy bottoms down to 180m depth
