Aspect : theys exhibit highly similar morphologies (often leading to misidentification); thick-walled, glossy, and ovate-conical to plump and inflated, with a moderately short to tall spire that is prominent and pointed. Whorls are convex and rounded, often with a channeled suture and a conspicuous, wide, deep sutural canal; ranging 20–60 mm; smooth and polished surface; white to creamy-yellow base with bold orange, brown, or reddish spiral bands, rows of spots, or swirls covering the whorls
Feeding : carnivorous scavengers (meaty tissues from bivalves (e.g., oysters, clams, mussels), prawns, worms)
Environment : shallow coastal marine environments in the Indo-West Pacific region, ranging from the Western Indian Ocean to Indonesia, including areas around India (southeast and southwest coasts, Andaman and Nicobar Islands); prefer soft substrates (silt, sand, mud) in intertidal to subtidal zones at depths down to 60 m
