Aspect : shell in the shape of an oval bubble with a sunken spire. The shells are lightweight, and decorated with a conspicuous pattern of spiral brown or black lines. Comma shaped opening, as long as the shell. The columella has a callus without folds. The shell is extremely thin. No seal

Feeding : carnivorous (polychaetes worms, mussels, slugs, foraminiferans...)

Environment : Indo-Pacific regions, including the Red Sea, Japan, Australia, and Polynesia, some species in Caribbean and Atlantic tropical waters; in sandy or muddy substrates at shallow subtidal zones
