Aspect : elongated opening, narrow at the top and widens in oval at the base, sometimes closed by a cover. The shell is thick, ovoid to spindle-shaped with a short conical apex and well-marked turns. The base of the columella has a characteristic fold. The average size is between 5 to 25 mm
Feeding : carnivorous (Foraminiferans, polychaetes worms, sea slugs ...)
Environment : tropical and temperate seas worldwide, including the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans on sandy or muddy substrates at depth range from the intertidal zone down to around 200 meters
